Dean Clarke - General Manager

Responsible for day-to-day operations and all bookings for a 5,000 seat arena and a 60,000 square foot convention centre. Also oversees a 400 seat community rink in the Okanagan Hockey School Training Centre and the 2,000 seat Memorial Arena. Overseeing the in-house exclusive food and beverage contractor, Junior A tenant hockey team, Okanagan Hockey School tenant and Junior B Thompson Okanagan Lacrosse tenant.

Clarke brings to Global Spectrum over 20 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Global Spectrum, Clarke was the General Manager from 2006-2010 at Prospera Place in Kelowna, BC, an RG Properties facility. He was the Director of Event Services for RG Properties from 1999 – 2006. During his eleven years at Prospera Place/ RG Properties, Clarke and his staff successfully attracted major concerts and events to Kelowna like Elton John, Cher, Monday Night Nitro and other events that the Interior of British Columbia had never seen before. During that time he was involved with opening the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, BC where they hosted the Ford Men’s World Championship in 2004 and at the same time oversaw the Capital News Centre’s multi-sportsplex, in Kelowna BC.

1998-99 Clarke was the Manager of Facility Services for Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment Ltd. (MLSEL), where he successfully transitioned the Toronto Raptors, Sky Dome (Rogers Stadium) and Toronto Maple Leafs from Maple Leaf Gardens to the Air Canada Centre. Clarke was an integral part of the opening team where they successfully hosted an astounding 70 events in the first 75 days of operation.

1995-1998 Clarke was the Operations Supervisor for Ogden Entertainment at the Corel Centre (Scotia Bank Place) where he was a part of the original opening team.

Sally Pierce - Assistant General Manager

Sally Pierce is the Assistant General Manager of the South Okanagan Events Centre Complex.  A City of Penticton facility, the Complex consists of the Events Centre, the Penticton Trade & Convention Centre, Memorial Arena, the Okanagan Hockey Academy and the Penticton Vees Junior A Hockey Club.  Pierce is employed by Global Spectrum Facility Management L.P., one of the leading private venue management companies in the industry, and works closely with the City of Penticton as her client.  She lives in Summerland and is proud to call the Okanagan Valley home.

Prior to joining Global Spectrum in 2008, Pierce spent many years working for the Canadian Pacific group, both Fairmont Hotels and Canadian Pacific Railway.  She began her tenure with the company in 1996 as Convention Manager for the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.  Fairmont moved her into the role of Sales Manager and in 2000 Pierce was moved to Calgary to join the start-up team of the Royal Canadian Pacific, CP Rail’s high-end vintage luxury train.  In addition to the luxury rail tours, Pierce designed tailor-made packages, most notably the Royal Fly-Fishing Adventure and in 2006 the Royal Canadian Pacific was awarded the World Travel Award for the “World’s Leading Luxury Train”.

British-born, Pierce has more than 25 years in the hospitality and event-management industry.  In the UK she worked for Digital Equipment Company (DEC) planning meetings and events and was selected for DECWorld ’88, held at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, South of France, Digital’s world-wide client appreciation event.  Raised and educated in North Wales, Pierce attended Llandrillo Technical College where she earned a diploma in Business Management.
