Ford Hotshots Preliminary Round & Wild Card Game – FREE Admission
January 26 @ 12:00 pm - 12:00 am
Let’s kick off the 2018 Scotties in style!
Hey Penticton! The biggest event in women’s curling officially kicks off this Saturday, January 27th in our hometown, and the eyes of the country will be on the South Okanagan Events Centre to watch Canada’s top women’s curling teams play for a national championship! But before that starts, there are plenty of ways to get involved with the 2018 Scotties on Friday, January 26th. Best of all? They’re absolutely FREE! All you need to do is pick up your free ticket at the Valley First Box Office at the SOEC, prior to the start of the event.
Here’s a look at what’s going on this Friday, January 26th at the SOEC:
Ford Hot Shots Preliminary Round (12:00PM) — The always-popular skills competition features a revamped format this year, as a lucky fan will win a two-year lease on a Ford Escape! Watch the Scotties teams try their hand at a variety of skills-based shots, and have some fun at the same time!
Wild Card Game (6:30PM) — History will be made as two teams, 2016 Scotties champ Chelsea Carey of Calgary and Winnipeg’s Kerri Einarson, go head to head to decide the 16th and final berth into the 2018 Scotties, the first-ever winner-take-all Wild Card game!
Parking is FREE on Friday, January 26th for both the Ford Hot Shots & Wild Card Games. Starting on Saturday, January 27th, parking will be $10 per day at the SOEC. Re-entry on a first-come, first serve basis; simply present your parking ticket to the attendant upon re-entry. Transit is free for volunteers! People attending events at the Community Centre are not required to pay. Everyone is encouraged to carpool and use the free parking at the City’s Lakawanna and Lakeshore Drive Lots.
